"A CUP OF SOLD GOLD"
This was the first national anthem of China, it was created during the Qing Dynasty around 1911 by Bo Tong, who was a high ranking official in the Imperial guard and Yan Fu. This song was very popular when it came out, most of the Chinese public listened to it. The anthem was officially adopted on October 4, 1911 until, but this song was not used as the national anthem for long, the Wuchang Uprising, meant to end China's imperial era, started six days after the anthem was officially adopted, after which it was no longer the national anthem. This song was written by Charles Collins and F. W. Leigh, it was sung by Marie LLoyd and was published during 1916 by Star Music of London. This song's main purpose was to get young men to enlist in the army since the British needed more soldiers during the Boer War. |

This song was written by Karl Kennet and Lyn Udall in 1899, this song talks through the perspective of a African-American mother, who sings to her children to stay in their backyards which means that they should not mix races. Furthermore, the song might be sung through the perspective of an African American to show that if the African Americans think it is alright then it must be alright. |

Premiered in 1913 this was one of the most influential ballets in history, created by Igor Stravinsky and choreographed by the legendary Vaslav Nijinsky, this ballet is a reconstruction of a ritual from ancient Russia where in a sacrificial virgin dances herself to death in order for spring to arrive. The music made extensive use of complex rhythmic structures, dissonance, and bizarre instrumentation. |

This song was composed by Scott Joplin during 1899, this song was very popular, it became the first Ragtime composition to become a sheet music best-seller. The Haitian national anthem was written in 1903 by Justin Lherisson for a competition sponsored under the Presidency of Nord Alexis to celebrate the centennial anniversary of Haiti's independence, the best song would have been chosen to be the national anthem. During the second competition that year Nicolas Geffrard won the second competition for putting the words to music. |

JANA GANA MANA
This song was published in 1912, was the work of the great poet and philosopher Rabindranath Tagore. The song was adopted in its Hindi version by the Constituent Assembly as the National Anthem on January 24, 1950. It was awarded as the most beautiful National Anthem in the world. |

EL AMOR BRUJO
The original version of this ballet was published during 1915, and it was written by Manuel de Falla , this version met with criticism in its 1915 premier in Madrid. Falla reqorked the piece, trimming its length, and excluding much of the vocal part. This was performed in 1916, and in 1925 Falla introduced the final version which is still popular today. |
